Yew Chung International School of Chongqing (YCIS Chongqing) serves Chongqing’s expatriate community with an international curriculum offered to students aged 3-18, in its Kindergarten to Year 13 programme. YCISCQ Primary has adopted P4C from ECE to Y6. Each learning community has one P4C lesson timetabled each week and P4C is also used to enhance other curriculum areas with P4C activities used as starter activities.

Its EAL department has found that P4C gives children the opportunity to speak more English, which improves their language skills. The school also gives its children the opportunity to have P4C lessons in Chinese (the other major language spoken in school). This enhances understanding and critical thinking skills which can then be transferred to lessons spoken in English.
